Week 1 - Planning out your projects

The first week includes an introductory video, and a real example of how you take that idea to the next level.

Week 2 - Getting to know the tools used for drafting

This section of the course includes 2 videos, an overview of the tools, and a checklist to help get you started. There are also two assignments to take your knowledge further.

Week 3 - Getting the ideas you have gathered onto paper
With your skills in idea gathering, and an understanding of the tools you will need, it’s time to get those ideas on paper. In week three you will learn to do just that. In this section of the course you will learn about rough sketches, design standards, the basics of layout and you’ll learn about line types. This section includes two videos, as well as text elements and an assignment.

Week 4 - Developing your rough sketches into scales drawings
Now that you have a rough drawing it’s time to take it further. In week four, you will learn to turn that sketch into a scale drawing. Some of the knowledge you will gain in this section includes how to create: orthographic drawings, elevation-views, cross-sections, and much more. Week 5 - Creating 3-D drawings of your project and creating materials and cutting lists.
In week five it’s time to round out your skills with knowledge of isometric drawings. You will learn how to turn your scale drawing into a 3D view, how to make a material list, and even how to design a cutting list for your project.
